In 2017, it was regulated that the provisions “occupational health and safety services” and “support for occupational health and safety services” of the Law on Occupational Health and Safety No. 6331 would come into effect on 01.07.2020. As of 01.07.2020, in workplaces operating in low-risk class with less than 50 employees; occupational health and safety services (except entry to work, periodic examinations and medical examinations) may be conducted by employers or employer representatives (provided that they are occupational health and safety certified). Workplaces operating in low-risk class with less than 50 employees may also receive services from family physicians and public health service providers (instead of occupational physicians).

However, if the employer or his representatives are not occupational health and safety certified or will not be able to be awarded the certificate since they do not meet the requirements, employer may prefer to cooperate with one of OHS companies to fulfill obligations arising from the 6. and 7. provisions of the Law on Occupational Health and Safety.
